Maggie Outreach Project

Maggie

Our fifth annual project was for a four year old girl who has a rare condition called Angelman syndrome. This girl and her twin sister, who does not have special needs, are very limited in the ways they can play together. One of the requests for the car was that they could both enjoy it together. The team answered the challenge by designing and implementing a second working steering wheel, so that both sisters can drive the car together. This year’s car included lots of LED lights, a personalized light-up license plate, and a bubble blower. We now equip all vehicles with a wireless key fob that the parents can use if the child attempts to drive somewhere unsafe.
