Our fourth vehicle was presented to a local girl named Emily in 2016. Students met with her physical therapist to determine what would best suit Emily’s needs. Emily tends to put her hands in her mouth so the vehicle was adapted to only move if both of her hands are on the handlebars. An additional modification will be done to help Emily develop lower body muscles when her therapist feels she is ready. This modification will be done to the seat and will only allow the vehicle to move when Emily is in a standing position. The vehicle is equipped with a harness system so that it will be safe when she is ready for this final adaptation.
